The unfortunate death of Peninsula teacher Adrienne Phillips on September 11, 2009 due to cancer struck the hearts of many. Anyone who knew and loved Mrs. Phillips is welcome to join a plaque dedication ceremony on Friday, June 4 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in front of the Attendance Office.
Attire is casual, but students and friends may choose to dress up as their favorite historical figure from European History Advanced Placement (EHAP). Students do not need to bring anything, just ears to listen to student speakers, principal Kelly Johnson, and English teacher Jill Verenkoff.
During the ceremony, the plaque in memory of Mrs. Phillip’s contributions to the school will be installed. James Campbell will be the emcee (MC).
Music will play around 2:50 p.m. and Campbell will have an introduction and welcoming statement followed by speeches from Johnson and Verenkoff. Student memories will be shared from past EHAP students. Later, a skit will be performed in honor of Mrs. Phillips. Closing remarks will end this ceremony.
